REQUIREMENTS: Gas Pipelines facilities experience a plus. Individuals must be proficient in AutoCAD 2005 Knowledge and application of all electrical and instrumentation related Standards, Codes and Regulations Working knowledge of databases Experience in field walk-downs, equipment surveys and audits relating to equipment relocation, cable re-routing designs and control room upgrades highly desirable. Knowledge of PLC hardware and I/O point wiring is a plus. An understanding of the project control, budgeting and scheduling process is required. Must be proficient in Windows, MS Word, MS Excel and MS Access. RESPONSIBILITIES: Instrumentation and Control Systems design leading to the development and assembly of work packages for all instrumentation related drawings Develop P&ID’s, location plans, loop sheets, schematics, panel drawings, PLC cabinet drawings, including drawings related to DCS and PLC interface Interface with other disciplines and the clients Provide support to the Lead Designer and Project Engineer as required Perform quality checks and verification of compliance to standards for all instrumentation related drawings issued for construction; and field checkout, construction support, startup assistance and as-built/walk-downs.Electrical controls and facilities design including Power Distribution, Motor Controls Circuits and Lighting. Electrical Engineer |

Electrical Engineer with experience in a design-engineering role for industrial, manufacturing, and facility projects. The successful candidate will assist in proposal preparations; assist in the development of initial concepts and scope of work; prepare reports and technical evaluations; perform calculations; assist in the development of detailed design; prepare specifications; support the preparation of construction cost estimates; and provide engineering support during construction. The engineer will coordinate with other disciplines and interface directly with the project manager, lead discipline engineer, construction personnel, and the customer. Additional requirements include experience with medium- and low-voltage power distribution systems; lighting and lighting control systems; grounding; special systems; motor controls and general building systems controls; familiarity with the NEC and current energy conservation practices; minimum of 3 to 5 years' experience in electrical engineering and a 4 year BSEE degree from an accredited college or university. Also required are strong communication skills; and basic knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint. The following experience would be helpful, but is not essential: Performing short circuit analysis, load flow, and protective device coordination studies; power monitoring and control systems; power quality experience; hazardous classified area experience; control systems; maintenance engineering/supervision or general manufacturing experience; CAD drafting proficiency. |

Designer Drafter |

Job Summary The Designer Drafter shall perform design functions as directed by the Project Engineer, Systems Engineer / Specialist, or the Vice President of Engineering. Qualifications and Experience Associate Degree in Engineering or the equivalent. Skilled in the use of Solid Edge or a similar 3D design tool. A thorough knowledge of computer usage including Microsoft Word and Excel.
Duties and Responsibilities The Designer Drafter shall: Review the assigned work packages for completeness of information and promptly advise his or her supervisor of any items missing or ambiguity in instructions. Prepare construction drawings under the supervision of the Project Engineer, Systems Engineer / Specialist, or Vice President of Engineering. Prepare bills of material for review by the Project Engineer. Promptly request clarification by the engineer of any questions that may arise during the preparation of material requested in the work package. Complete assignments accurately and on time. |

Mechanical Engineer |

Job Summary The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the successful completion of the mechanical engineering activities assigned to him or her on schedule and within budget.
Qualifications and Experience Bachelors or higher degree in Mechanical, Structural, or other appropriate engineering field. A high degree of competency in one or more specialized mechanical engineering fields such as HVAC, trucks, air brakes, thermodynamics, vibrations, acoustics, etc. Competent in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Duties and Responsibilities The Mechanical Engineer shall: Be thoroughly familiar with the project specification and its requirements relating to the mechanical design tasks associated with the assigned program. Review the assigned work orders for completeness of information and promptly advise his or her supervisor of any items missing or ambiguity in instructions. Work orders may include but are not limited to the development of specifications, systems schematics, component and assembly design, preparation of supporting calculations and development of the bills of materials. Provide instructions to draftsmen and designers for the development and preparation of system schematics, layouts, assembly, and detail drawings. Review vendor proposals for compatibility with the contract specification and program requirements. Maintain a written list of open design issues relating to the assigned work orders to be resolved, the date the issue was identified, and the current status. Periodically report the status of each work order to his or her supervisor. Promptly advise his or her supervisor of any previously undefined areas of concern or non-compliance with the design specification. Review the output for each work order to assure accuracy, thoroughness, and adherence to the customer specification as well as CRM policies and procedures prior to submitting it for approval. Maintain a positive rapport with the customer. Other duties as specified. |

Structural Engineer |

Job Summary The Structural Engineer is responsible for the successful completion of the structural engineering activities assigned to him or her on schedule and within budget.
Qualifications and Experience Bachelors or higher degree in Mechanical, Structural, or other appropriate engineering field. A high degree of competency in classical and FEA analysis methods as well as test methods appropriate to the rail industry. Competency in metallurgy (material selection) and welding. Experience in completing transit designs that require adherence to federal and industry standards. Registered Professional Engineer is a plus.
Duties and Responsibilities The Structural Engineer shall: Be thoroughly familiar with the project specification and its requirements relating to the structural design tasks associated with the assigned program.Review the assigned work orders for completeness of information and promptly advise his or her supervisor of any items missing or ambiguity in instructions. Maintain a written list of open design issues relating to the assigned work packages to be resolved, the date the issue was identified, and the current status. Maintaining established schedules and delivering on commitments is a must. Periodically report the status of each work order to his or her supervisor. Promptly advise his or her supervisor of any previously undefined areas of concern or non-compliance with the design specification, regulations or other expectations. Review the output for each work order to assure accuracy, thoroughness, and adherence to the customer specification as well as CRM policies and procedures prior to submitting it for approval. Output is expected to be “customer ready” with no further review or editing required. Perform FEA and classical analysis of structures to assure compliance with load cases as outlined by the FRA and APTA. Review design for cost and weight reduction. Formalize all calculations and test results. Maintain an accurate and comprehensive program file for immediate reference should the need arise. Be prepared to discuss the various analyses with customer and vendor representatives and to assume a lead position during structural tests and other structural issues whether in the shop or in the field. Manager of Engineering Services |

Duties and Responsibilities The Manager of Engineering Services shall: Review all technical specifications in the bid and contract stages for document control and configuration management requirements. Formulate a plan to meet to meet the requirements. Review the status of each engineer’s performance (scheduled vs. actual output) on a weekly basis. Report trends of substandard performance on an immediate basis. Formulate and maintain metrics to be used in performance appraisals and consideration for promotions. Review engineering changes on a weekly basis. Plot trends in root causes and provide recommended corrective actions to engineering management. Establish and maintain electronic drawing, and technical document files. Establish and maintain configuration management procedures. Perform other duties as specified. |
